Professional Wrestling Interview with Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa is a championship professional wrestler! She has wrestled around the world in singles and tag team matches wearing her signature face paint. I spoke with her to learn about her wrestling career and the work needed to get to where she is now.

Travis: What was the moment that led to you deciding to become a wrestler?

Thunder Rosa: After attending a Indy show in Hayward, CA in 2013.

How has your ambition helped you get to where you are now?

That was one of the main things that kept me moving forward the whole time. The fact that I knew I had the chance to move, travel and create my own destiny made me work harder. I noticed that the opportunity was there, I just needed to find the right moment, the right time.

How have you dealt with any setbacks you've encountered along the way to becoming a professional wrestler?

At first I look at the problem and always search for solutions. I knew that setbacks are part of the process so I process my feelings, my anger, sadness or whatever I'm experience it and try to spin it into something positive. It is easier to feel sorry for yourself and for your situation but it is harder to to look at things in a positive way and work with what has been given to you.

The times that I had been injured, i knew i couldn't work so I worked on doing things that will keep me on the loop and current. Yes, I can't denied it was hard to see my peers getting opportunities that I otherwise could be gotten but I knew that my time will come again.

What is one goal you are working toward that you are excited about?

This year I started training BJJ and I would love to have my first competition by the summer.

You inspire many young women through your actions. What is some advice you would share with others that want to become wrestlers?

I will say to stay on your ground and to do what you believe is best for you.

There had been many times in where I know that some of my decisions could bother others but I always have to think what will be best for me or what makes me happy. And that is what I have done.

Where are some of the most fun places you've wrestled?

Germany and Mexico City!

Thank you to Thunder Rosa for taking the time to answer our questions! Be sure to follow her on social media like Facebook and Twitter, to see if she is wrestling in a match near you!
